Travel Documents

Remember that traveling to international destinations requires that you obtain the correct government issued documentation such as Passports and Visas. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct documentation. Most airlines check to make sure you have the correct documents upon checkin, but if you are missing a specific VISA, you will not be allowed to board the flight. Some of these documents can take several weeks to obtain, so make sure you plan well in advance and save yourself the stress!

International Currency

Most countries do not use American Dollars (USD) as their local currency, although most cities accept major credit cards, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also advise you go to your local bank and try to obtain some local currency, as changing it at the booth within the airport is usually done at a worse rate.

Airport Security

With airport security stepped up, remember to pack as many things in your checked baggage as possible and travel light. When going through metal detectors you will need to empty your pockets of all metalic objects, so minimize the amount of loose change you carry. Many of the baskets have holes and the last thing you want to do is rummage around on the floor chasing nickles and dimes.

If you usually carry a pocket knife, pack it safely in your checked baggage, otherwise it could very well be confiscated.

If you'll be traveling with a laptop, make sure you pack it in a way that's easy to remove the from the bag. Make sure mouse wires and power cables are free from becoming tangled.
