British Airways History and Service

The United Kingdom's flag carrier is one of the oldest airlines, embarking upon its first international flight from London to Paris in 1919. In the early 1980's it shed approx 23,000 jobs in an attempt to bring it back to profitability and in 1987 it was floated on the London Stock Exchange.

The British Airways main hub is London Heathrow Airport (LHR) with secondary at London Gatwick Airport (LGW). It operates over 320 aircraft to destinations across the globe. It's first and Club class (business class) are known to be spacious and extremely comfortable for long haul flights.

They managed to loose my baggage somewhere between Dallas and London. I think in future I will travel light and bring carry on luggage. The food was not as bad as the last flight and the flight crew was professional and polite. The pilot was hilarious with his special inflight announcements. It was more expensive than some other low cost carriers but I will most likely travel with them again.
